CHORLEY got back to winning ways in the league with this emphatic win over Blackpool at Windsor Park on Saturday. Having been put in, Blackpool soon found themselves 3/4 with Mercer, Croft, Lomas and Metcalf all dismissed for ducks as Stephen John and Billy Smith wreaked havoc. When the two sides met earlier in the season at Stanley Park, Chorley rolled the seasiders over for 56 and at this junction it looked as though they may not reach that paltry figure.
However, professional Deon Kruis batted adventurously and with some assistance from Lady Luck partially redeemed the situation. Eventually he was yorked by a crackerjack of a delivery from Billy Smith for 48, but with only two other batsmen making it into double figures, Blackpool's total looked inadequate.
Nevertheless, they got encouragement from the early dismissals of Dixon and Fazackerley but tom Smith proved immovable and shared stands of 41 and 23 with Heaton and John before being bowled for a dogged 42. John and Senior, with an unbroken partnership of 35, saw their side home without too many alarms.
Blackpool 106
Chorley 107/4
