ALEX Kitchen and Richard Lynch, clinched victory at the East Lancashire Professional Golfers Association Alliance Championship at Pleasington with a score of 44 points to win by a point.
The pair carded an impressive 25 points on the outward nine and returned home with 19 despite the terrible weather conditions.
Kitchen (handicap 13) plays at Dunscar, while Lynch (5), is a member of Bolton. The victory was all the more satisfying for Kitchen, as his company, Velden Engineering (UK) Ltd are sponsors of ELPGAA.
"To win the Championship up at Pleasington was simply fantastic. Richard and I gelled really well on the day and played some super golf early on.
"The heavy rain over the closing holes made it a bit of a struggle, but we just did enough to hang on for victory," said Kitchen.
