BOLTON Wanderers FC has announced a unique deal which gives corporate supporters and other fans access to financial advice.

The Premiership club is combining with Croydon-based Millfield Partnership Limited to launch a range of financial services.

Wanderers officials and Millfield believe it is the first time a UK football club has co-operated in this way to help fans make the most of their money.

It means help will be available to executive box holders and other fans in the stands.

Millfield will be using the Wanderers' extensive database of commercial associates to offer a specialist business consultancy service which includes complete corporate health checks.

The company will also give Bolton fans access to advice and guidance about life and critical illness insurance cover, income protection, pension planning, savings and investments and mortgage advice.

Mr Gareth Moores, the Wanderers' Commercial Director, said today: "We selected Millfield Partnership Limited as our financial services partner, given the breadth of their financial adviser network and depth of knowledge, particularly their expertise of niche market segments.

"We were also seeking a partner which is truly independent, preferring to review the entire marketplace when recommending financial planning solutions rather than being tied to one product provider." Andrew Valentine, Head of Millfield Business Solutions, said they were looking forward to building a long-term relationship with Bolton Wanderers Football Club.

He said other clubs had tie-ups with financial companies but "nothing on this scale."

There would be big promotions at Wanderers games, a series of seminars during the year and mail-shots to fans.

Millfield, founded in 1998, has more than 450 independent financial advisers throughout the UK.

The company, which initially operated mostly in the south of England, was strengthened in 2001 when it acquired Heritage, a Doncaster-based business which concentrated mainly on the north after being founded in 1997.

We are delighted to be working with Millfield Partnership Limited, one of the largest networks of independent financial advisers in the UK.
