IN response to letter headlined "No mention of BNP fund-raiser."

Jan Tartu states that Nick Griffin was raising money "for what was then the National Front".

Let me set the record straight. The National Front is still the National Front, and named as such. Nick Griffin left and formed the British National Party, a totally independent party to the NF. No member of the BNP attends any event or distributes any materials from this group.

As for Mr Griffin going to Libya to ask for funds. Even groups such as the National Union of Miners met Colonel Gaddafi. George Galloway met Saddam Hussein; Tony Blair met with George Bush, and David Beckham met with Nelson Mandela, who is a convicted terrorist, and no one seems to bat an eyelid. But when Mr Griffin meets up with someone, he's slated in the media.
