SURELY you were not serious in suggesting that Bolton absorb Chorley within its boundaries?
Chorley and Bolton have nothing in common and I cannot understand who has authorised spending money on a detailed study.
For "detailed", read "expensive" and guess who pays? (Councillors, please note, if you have any say left in the running of the town).
What is seriously needed is for Bolton to be absorbed into Greater Manchester. For all intents and purposes, it is a suburb of that city without any of the benefits.
I would suggest we abolish the council and elect councillors in a Bolton ward of Manchester City Council. Perhaps then we would benefit from whatever has certainly revitalised Manchester.
