A NEW Bolton town centre late-licence bar will create 55 jobs when it opens its doors early next month after an investment of more than £1.5 million.
McCauley's, which is currently being furnished, is on the site of two buildings -- 77-83 Bradshawgate, which have been knocked through into one. The building includes the former Italian restaurant Toscana.
The bar, which will open from Monday to Saturday, 7pm until 2am, will feature a first-floor outdoor garden terrace, with the capacity to hold 120 people.
It is described by developers Sangton as a "comfortable, but fairly contemporary" development.
McCauley's will be in a similar vein to Churchgate's Varsity pub, aiming to provide a relaxing, but entertaining atmosphere.
They will employ a large team of staff from cleaners to bar staff, a promotional team, secretaries and managerial staff.
The bar will have a large dance floor area and serve a selection of food.
Entertainment on Friday and Saturday night will be DJ led.
Managing Director of Warrington-based Sangton Limited, John Topping, said: "It will be quite a modern bar, with fitted tables as opposed to loose, and various different styles of seating. The design work has been carried out by a well-known designer from the North-east, an area which tends to lead the way in bar trends.
"We are not aiming at a specific market, but are relying on existing local trade. We hope the style of the operation, as well as the bar's design, will set us apart from other Bolton night-time venues."
