I AM indebted to Mr A. Swarsbrick of Westhoughton for posing this intriguing question to the sports desk.
Who was Bruce Rioch's finest signing for Bolton Wanderers. Was it John McGinlay or Gudni Bergsson?
I am not evading the question when I say I have absolutely no idea other than to say Wanderers are immensely richer for the presence of both players.
McGinlay did more than anybody to drag Wanderers out of the doldrums and into the Premiership and Bergsson has performed heroics to keep them there.
If I can throw another name into the equation who was not signed by Rioch then how does Per Frandsen's influence on the team rate against McGinlay and Bergsson?
