A DRUGS habit stretching back many years caused the death of a Bolton man.
Glenn Daley, aged 42, was found face down with a syringe underneath him at the Salvation Army hostel on Duke Street, Bolton.
An inquest heard that persistent use of methadone and morphine as well as alcohol caused him to develop pneumonia and die in his sleep on October 10 last year. The inquest was told that Mr Daley had never worked after an accident at the age of 14 when he was in a coma with serious head injuries for four months.
He had lost contact with his family after his parents moved to America.
Coroner Jennifer Leeming recorded a verdict that Mr Daley died as a result of misuse of drugs.
