TRADERS in Bury are being warned of fraudsters targeting the credit industry.
The Office of Fair Trading (OFT) says licensed traders are being contacted by people claiming to be from OFT. They say a book is being produced listing trustworthy credit providers. Traders are asked for a £199 fee to be included in the book.
The OFT though says it does not approve or recommend individual companies or produce lists . It is urging any traders who have been contacted to complain to the OFT.
Penny Boys, OFT Executive Director, said: "The OFT does not endorse individual businesses and traders."
