A PLANNING application for nine houses on Wigan Road, Westhoughton, has been approved by Westhoughton Town Council. The application was for land at Gorsey Grove Farm, adjacent to the entrance to Green Meadows.
The developer, Towncroft Construction, originally asked for 13 houses but the town council objected on the grounds that it was too many properties for the site.
Cllr Joseph Hayes asked for a condition to be imposed on five houses facing Green Meadows to stop garages being turned into living space and to prevent parking at the entrance to Green Meadows.
