MAGPIES manager Mark Molyneaux has made it clear that his team fear no-one as the hunt for a place in the UniBond Division One play-offs reaches an exciting climax.

The manager spelled it out to the players in no uncertain terms before Saturday's win over North Ferriby United.

"I told them that at 3 o'clock our chances of reaching the promotion play-offs were in other clubs' hands - but at a quarter to five it could be in our own hands.

"I said 'Some teams will come a cropper today. Let's not be one of them'.

"The lads obliged - they turned in another outstanding display, so we've got to keep going. We're playing well and we don't fear anyone.

"We said earlier in the season that we'd be happy to hang on to other teams' coat-tails in the run-in to the end of the season."

With Witton and Matlock both losing and Belper held to a draw, the Magpies moved up to two places to sixth in the table, just a couple of points behind Belper and with a vastly superior goal difference.

Indeed, after the fine victory over them on Saturday North Ferriby are also within Chorley's sights as they have to travel to both Alfreton and Radcliffe, who lie top and second respectivley, in their final three fixtures.

Eastwood Town come to Victory Park on Saturday in the team's final home match of the season, Bamber Bridge host Chorley on Monday (kick-off 7.45pm) and Stocksbridge is the venue as the Magpies on April 26, the last day of the league campaign.

Success there could be the prelude to the play-offs, with two more encounters that would almost certainly rank alongside some of the most important matches in the club's history.

Meanwhile, the Magpies can boost their doubles tally to six if they beat Eastwood and Bamber Bridge again.
