REGARDING the Stop The War meeting being banned (April 9).
Cllr Howarth and his fellow council members were spot on in banning such a meeting. The war was against Saddam and his evil regime, not against the Iraqi people. He was a threat to his neighbours and other countries.
The liberation of the Iraqi peoples will bring happy hearts and a fresh start, free from fear for them, more so for the children. But, coming back to the proposed meeting, I thank Cllr Howarth and his fellow members of the council for having the foresight to ban this meeting.
Meetings and banner waving only causes unrest.
