AFTER 38 games and eight months of the Nationwide Conference season, the destiny of Leigh RMI lies in the next 360 minutes of football.

But anything other than victory against fellow strugglers Gravesend and Northfleet at Hilton Park on Saturday will almost certainly re-acquaint them with Unibond League football for the first time in three years.

Leigh's first away win of the season came at Stonebridge Road in the corresponding fixture back in October, but the predator who earned the three points virtually on his own that day will line up elsewhere for RMI's biggest game of the season.

And without Dino Maamria in front of goal, Leigh could struggle to find the back of the net once more.

Their confidence may not be on a high after twice surrendering a one-goal lead in the space of three days earlier this week. But they know that their fate still lies in their own hands.

With six points covering ten clubs for the final two relegation places, it could not be closer at the wrong end of the league, but RMI desperately need an improvement on their poor return of four points from their last six matches.

As talk of survival dominates Hilton Park, fans and players alike have almost forgotten that the team are in a cup final on Wednesday when they take on Kendal Town in the final of the Lancashire Marsden Trophy.
