THE spring like sunny conditions of the past week have been marred by overnight frosts.

Despite this, catches have been improved on the Island Lodge from the previous week.

Parkers is looking well mainly for skimmers and perch. The small Carcass and Field Lodge are also fishing well. The Coffin Lodge also topped up with water, which had to be controlled by the inlet sluice, but is fishing well.

The sixth and final match in the Pilsworth Fisheries Winter League took place on Sunday.

Top Individuals on the day were Dave Moran (Sadjas Whizzo Gold), with chub and carp 24lbs 10ozs 0drms.

In second place was Peter Blinkhorn (Drennan NW Black), 23-12-0, and third was Colin Mayor (Drennan NW Gold), 22-10-0.

Drennan NW Gold took top place with 33 points. Second place was tied between Fishermans Way and Drennan NW Black, both with 28.5 points.

Overhaul Individual: 1, K. Padmore (Drennan NW Gold) 45 points, 2, C. Mayor (Drennan NW Gold) 42 points, 3, D. Shaw (Fishermans Way) 42 points.

Final league over six matches: 1, Drennan NW Gold 161.5 points, 2, Fishermans Way 145.5 points, 3, Drennan NW Black 129.5 points, 4, Drennan NW Karrasan 128 points, 5, Tri Cast Highfield 112 points.

In the Hebden Bridge Golden Peg Open held on the Rochdale Canal, Dead Arm, Long Tunnel and Hollins Lane fished by 45.

Top weight fell to Paul Cryer (Profish) 5-6-0, in second place Dave Hanson (Little lever) 3-15-0 and third L. Duckett (Teams) 3-14-0.

BURY & DISTRICT SEA ANGLERS

The next meeting of the club takes place at the Waterloo Hotel, Manchester Road, on Monday, April 10 8pm. New members are welcome to attend, and a full programme of this seasons trips will be available.

BURY SENIOR SECTION

The club have a working party on Parkers Lodge this Saturday, April 12, please meet on the banks at 9am. A good response from members would be appreciated.

The job in hand is to restore the fieldside pathway, which has become eroded, and replace bankside planking with concrete fencing panels. A further working party takes place on the Coffin Lodge on Saturday, April 27, to complete all fieldside stillages.

Nominations are still being taken for members who wish to fish the First Division National Championship on the Stainforth & Keadby Canal, to be fished on Saturday, July 26.

A 12-man team plus eight reserves have to be submitted by June 27.

The club have two matches booked on the Stainforth Canal National Length. On Sunday, May 25 is the Jubilee Cup and Sunday, June 15 is June Cup.

The club's next match, the Adcock Cup, takes place on Pendle View Fishery near Whalley on Sunday, April 20. Names are being taken at Fishermans Way, 25 pegs have been booked.
