PER Frandsen was a happy Wanderer today as he flew to Denmark to resume his international career, confident that he will be playing Premiership football next season.

The Reebok ace admits he was "pleasantly surprised" on Monday when he was drafted into the Danish squad for their European Championship qualifiers in Romania on Saturday and at home to Bosnia next Wednesday and things got even better as Wanderers beat Spurs 1-0 to boost their survival hopes.

"I've been saying all along that we have been playing well," the 33-year-old midfielder repeated, maintaining his optimistic outlook.

"We're very solid, we don't give many chances away and we're always going to create chances.

"We had to get the points last night, especially with the other teams (Birmingham and West Ham) winning at the weekend, and it was nice to get the penalty but we deserved to win the game."

Frandsen, whose last international appearance came more than a year ago against Isreal, thought his international days were over when he failed to make the squad for the World Cup in the Far East last summer.

He was recalled after Thomas Roell of FC Copenhagen - the club he initially joined Wanderers from - withdrew because of injury, and now has the chance to add to his 22 caps.

"I never even had it at the back of my mind that I would be involved in the international side again," he admitted.

"I know I've only been called up because they've had a few injuries but it's always a thrill to play for your country."
