INJURY stricken Terry O'Connor looks set to put his woes behind him after declaring himself fit to take on London Broncos this week.

Wigan's wounded Warrior struggled through the majority of last season with a back problem, the inspirational prop playing through the pain despite not being able to train for the last six months of the campaign.

And this season has begun just as frustratingly for the inspirational front rower, a foot injury this time to blame for keeping him on the sidelines.

But coach Stuart Raper has announced he will lead a quartet of Great Britain international comebacks against the Broncos at the JJB Stadium on Friday, with Terry Newton, Brian Carney and Mick Cassidy also fit for action.

And, with so many youngsters flooding into the first team ranks this season, he knows exactly how crucial having his pack leader fit could prove to their campaign.

"I think Terry (O'Connor) coming back will prove a big boost to the squad," he said.

"He has been an integral part of this club for a long time. He's very experienced but he's also a natural leader."

"The front row is a position the rest of the team look up to. If you have a good front row, you know you're going to have a good day. That's the respect

that Terry commands."
