WELSHMAN Nathan Blake struck a stunning equaliser, but Wanderers eventually went down during this Premiership trip to St James' Park just over five years ago.
In the 72nd minute Blake received a pass from Jimmy Phillips and held the ball before turning Darren Peacock in an instant. As he charged forward he blasted a viscous low left-footer past Shaka Hislop, which crept inside the far post.
Magpies manager Kenny Dalglish admitted: "It was a good goal, he hit it very well."
