MY story the other week about panel bowling in Bolton created a lot of interest, in particular to Mrs Caroline Prescott (nee Bentley), of Hurlston Road, Great Lever.
"The 1979 photograph of panel bowlers at the Sunnyside Hotel brought back many childhood memories, because my mother and father were licensees at the Sunnyside at the time.
"I was the youngest of three daughters, and we well remember bowling competitions on Wednesdays and Saturdays which brought very large crowds to the pub. It was often very hectic if there was a wedding reception on at the same time.
"My mum and dad were Pat and Ernie Bentley, and they, and we, often still see regulars from the Sunnyside."
