THE JOHN Smith's Farnworth Winter Rounders league completed its programme on Sunday with Darcy confirming their status as champions with a fine 169-98 win over runners-up Siddons.

Tonge Fold XI drafted in players for their match against Adlington and won by 28 runs.

Section B was already settled but the one match scheduled was cancelled because Church Inners could not raise a team to play Advance Computer Systems.

ACS finished third in the table, just two points behind champions The Grapes and one adrift of runners-up Capitol.

The presentation will be held at Dixon Green Labour Club on Friday March 21 from 7.30pm.

In the Halliwell League, Darcy beat Lower Pools to clinch the championship and Westhoughton and District moved into second place when they beat the youngsters of Hulton Lane B.

Smithills Coaching House lost to Bolton Lads and Girls Club.

Next Sunday is the last scheduled week of the Halliwell League fixtures.

Both Smithills and Westhoughton face difficult ties against Boundary Ladies and Bolton Lads and Girls respectively.

Smithills have an outstanding game against Darcy, which could affect the runners-up spot. But they will await the outcome of next week's games before deciding if it needs be played.

All teams will be involved in the Russell Seddon Tournament on Sunday March 23, which is the finale of the Halliwell playing season.

The presentation evening will be held at the Railway Club on Green Lane on Saturday April 5.
