DOBBIES A moved five points clear in Division One of the BSF Over 35s football, after a cracking 8-1 win away at Colliers Rest. Leading 4-0 at half time the result was never in doubt, and Dobbies strode out as impressive winners. A great sight was Brian Howarth returning after injury to bag a hat-trick, and G Walton and D Whittiker both chipped in with two apiece.

In Division Two Hare Athletic thumped Seven Stars 7-2 away to stretch their lead to five points, with man of the match Paul Hill scoring an excellent six goals.

Ainsworth Fossils moved two points clear at the top of Division Three after beating title rivals Rumworth & Hulton 2-1 in a close game. Goals from W Darby and A Brooks secured the points for Ainsworth, and M Gray got Rumworth's consolation goal.

In the only other game to survive the weather Dobbies C had a good 2-1 win at home to Urmston MC.
