ATHERTON'S Wigan Road Post Office is the latest in a growing list of urban branches facing closure.
Customers will be forced to use nearby branches in Market Street, Atherton, and Atherton Road, Hindley Green, when the Wigan Road branch closes for good on April 9.
It follows the closures of Hindsford Post Office in Tyldesley Road and Bolton's Darcy Lever Post Office.
Lostock Post Office in Heaton Road is also in danger of closing unless a replacement sub-postmaster is found.
