ANYONE who has been having trouble contacting Smithills Hall following an information appeal last week is being asked to try again.

Organisers at the historic hall want to know more about a silver-plated teapot presented to a John Highton by "the teachers, scholars and friends of Mawdsley Street School" in 1873.

They are eager to hear from anyone who can tell them more about the teapot, John Highton or Mawdsley Street School.

But a recent number change means anyone who rang last week may have been frustrated.

With the Ainsworth Rooms now open to the public, they would also like to hear from anyone with any information about the servants and their duties before 1938.

Contact Smithills Hall on 332377 or John Knott on 591951.
