THE LAST professional jester in England is buried near Macclesfield in Cheshire. Samuel "Maggoty" Johnson lived at Gawsworth Hall, an ancient manor house once the home of the Fitton family.
The jester died in the 1770s and is buried in Maggoty Johnson's Wood on the estate.
