UNFORTUNATELY the Michael Ricketts situation is all too common of today's footballer.
The story is similar to the situation of a certain Sasa Curcic who also got delusions of grandeur when he ran off to play for Premiership rivals Aston Villa.
Good riddance to Ricketts, he obviously does not want to play for the club so we are better off without him.
There's no doubt in my mind he'll struggle at any other Premiership club.
And I for one look forward to seeing him in the lower reaches of the football league in years to come.
