GLAMOROUS till girl Bernie Roscoe hopes to "check out" a new man -- by arranging her own Blind Date game at her supermarket.

The 37-year-old mum-of-four hopes to swap the food aisles for church aisles if she is swept off her feet by a mystery customer on St Valentine's Day.

Bernie, affectionately known as Barbie by workmates at Asda in Astley Bridge, now needs three lucky men to take part in the Cilla Black-style show at the store.

But unlike other Asda shop assistants she drives a hard bargain. The contestants must be tall, dark, handsome -- and humorous too.

"It'd be nice to find someone gorgeous like George Clooney," she said. "But they must be kind and funny to get to the front of my queue."

Divorced Bernie, who will definitely not be left on the shelf at the store where she works part-time, said she also wants a man with a bit of intelligence as well.

She keeps fit by jogging and goes to the gym and she is studying for a maths degree at the Bolton Institute.

Workmates at the Moss Bank Way store will vet the eligible bachelors who want to take part before choosing just three.

Bernie will sit behind a screen in the foyer and ask them three tricky teasers -- before whisking off the winner to a candle-lit dinner -- in the supermarket canteen.

She said: "I've not been looking for Mr Right so far because I'm not even sure he exists. But you've got to live in hope. Maybe he's somewhere in the supermarket right now."

Men who think they might have a chance at winning Bernie's heart must take a recent photo of themselves to the store and leave a contact number before February 7.

The contestants, who must be aged between 25 and 40, will be notified by February 11.
