TWO pensioners were targeted by bogus officials in two unrelated incidents in Bury.

Two men called at the home of an 84-year-old woman in Hazel Avenue at about 3.45pm last Friday saying they were from an electricity company.

They walked into the house but fled empty-handed when the pensioner became suspicious and asked them to leave.

In the second incident, two men knocked on the door of an 70-year-old woman's home in Moss Lane, Whitefield at about 4.45pm.

They told her they were from the same electricity company and made a search of the house, stealing cash and other items.

One of the thieves was described as white male, 5ft 4ins, dark hair, dark eyes and was wearing a woollen bobble hat and a black anorak.

The second thief was wearing a grey anorak.

The two men in the first incident were both wearing dark duffle coats pulled up round their faces and hats.

Police say the two incidents were not related. If you can help call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
