RESIDENTS who do not want waiting restrictions introduced near their homes have started a petition.
Bolton Council plans to place double yellow lines in Armadale Road and linked roads in Ladybridge to stop congestion because of traffic queuing to get to two nearby primary schools.
However, residents of Wendover Drive and Chesterton Drive have collected a 32-name petition in a bid to stop the plans as they fear they will struggle to park near their own homes and claim the area will become even more congested if the waiting restrictions are introduced.
People have suggested that both Beaumont Primary School and St Bernard's RC Primary School should transform part of their playing fields to provide parking areas for parents.
The proposals will be discussed by Bolton's planning committee tomorrow.
