DAVE Shuttleworth steered Eagley to a first round win in the Bolton League's indoor cricket competition for the Anthony Axford Trophy.
Eagley lost five wickets leaving Shuttleworth alone at the crease in the chase to overhaul Heaton's modest total of 89-5, which he clinched with one ball to spare.
In contrast Tonge scored an easy win over Farnworth, passing the 96-4 target with eight wickets and overs to spare. Rick Northrop scored 25 not out and Jon Partington struck an impressive 24.
Kearsley top scored with 133-5, Darron Foy 32 and Chris Monks 34 not out, before dismissing Egerton for 79.
The quarter-finals will be held on Sunday at Bolton School. Astley Bridge and Farnworth SC meet at 11.15am followed by champions Walkden and Horwich at 12.30pm. Eagley face Kearsley at 1.45pm before Tonge and Bradshaw clash at 3pm.
