I LIVE in an area where road humps are being introduced -- pending objections -- and, while I think in certain streets they are vital, I also sympathise with car users who must think that the council are blaming them for all accidents.
In my personal situation I welcome them as, where I live on Thurstane Street, many cars driving along Harpers Lane towards Halliwell Road are forced to drive via Bennetts Lane and straight down Thurstane Street, as Wilmot Street is No Entry. In my opinion, most drivers abide by the speed limit, but many do not.
Thankfully, as far as I know there have been no accidents in this area, but I fear that won't be long.
Surely in areas like this it is necessary for speed humps as it is better to prevent an accident rather than to wait for one to happen?
