GUDNI Bergsson has revealed the roller-coaster ride experience of playing alongside Ivan Campo in the centre of defence.

Wanderers' Icelandic captain and the Spaniard kept their second Premiership clean sheet in a row having also drawn 0-0 with Everton a fortnight ago.

In between came the 2-0 defeat at Aston Villa in which Campo was suspended and Bergsson played alongside Mike Whitlow.

Campo, who is on loan from Real Madrid, is famed for his big hair and some of the scares he gives the Wanderers players, coaches and fans when he plays the ball out of defence.

Bergsson, however, sees an extravagant, but extremely talented player, and feels the Wanderers back-line is beginning to benefit from his ball skills.

He said: "I think you have to expect the unexpected with Ivan. That's the way he is, that's the way he plays and whenever you play with him there will always be one or two hairy moments.

"When you get accustomed to that and realise what he is about to do then you don't panic as much.

"He is undoubtedly a footballing defender. He takes the ball down and plays it so well out from the back.

"I'm sure he's exciting to watch, maybe a little too exciting for us who play at the back with him.

"But as long as we keep clean sheets then it is fine. We have kept two clean sheets in a short space of time together, so that is good but the understanding has to be between all four of us and the goalkeeper, not just myself and Ivan.

"We take the clean sheet as a plus. Hopefully we can build on that, because learning to stop letting in goals will be a big thing."

Bergsson received treatment on his knee after the game with Fulham but will be available for next weekend's trip to Charlton.

He believes his side did enough to overcome Jean Tigana's team, but feels it is about time Wanderers began to stop talking about performances and start producing results. He said: "I think we should have won. We had a few chances in both halves, although they had a couple of good opportunities too.

"But overall if anyone deserved to win, it was us.

"We still believe we have a squad with a capability to be further up the table but words are cheap. You have to back up what you think with actions, which means performances and points.

"Some might argue our performances have deserved more points but the fact is we have not got them.

"We are drawing too many at home, we need to be winning at the Reebok."
