LINDSAY Hoyle, Labour MP for Chorley, has pledged his support to the National Canine Defence League's "A Dog Is For Life Campaign".
Mr Hoyle has signed a Commons Motion supporting the work of the charity, and is urging people not to buy puppies unless they intend to look after them properly in the future. The MP, whose constituency includes Adlington, said: "Thousands of dogs are abandoned every year, many bought as gifts at Christmas."
