GREATER Manchester Police have joined a number of forces in warning motorists to take care following a string of thefts by so-called "ice-bandits".
Thieves have struck in the morning after motorists have left their cars unattended with the engines running in a bid to de-frost the windows.
Officers in both Lancashire and Merseyside have made similar appeals.
