A PEDESTRIAN from Blackrod is still fighting for his life after being involved in a road accident.
Henry Stevens, aged 58, of Hillside Avenue, suffered serious leg and head injuries after the incident at about 6.30pm last Friday at the junction of Station Road and the A6.
He had been crossing the A6 at the junction with Station Road, near the Ridgway pub, Blackrod, when he collided with a Volkswagen Golf being driven by a 25-year-old woman.
She was travelling towards Horwich when the accident happened.
Mr Stevens is being treated in the intensive care unit at Hope Hospital, in Manchester, where he is in a critical condition.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the collision and anyone with information is asked to call 0161 856 5972.
