PLANNERS have given a Walkden School the go-ahead to build a security fence around the school to help protect it from vandals.
Salford Council approved plans by St George's High School to build the 2.4 metre high security fencing and gates around the Parsonage Drive school.
The school, which suffered a series of vandalism attacks a year ago, have decided that the fence has to built -- to protect them from any future attacks -- although work has still yet to begin on the fence.
Phillip Harte, acting headteacher of St George's High School, said: "We believe that the new security fence will help protect the school."
