AN overwhelming number of Wanderers fans believe Sam Allardyce was correct to prioritise Premiership survival above FA Cup glory.

Allardyce came under strong criticism among the national media for picking an allegedly weakened team for the Sunderland third round clash, which also attracted a poor Reebok crowd of just over 10,000.

But more than three-quarters of the fans who voted on our special website poll believe retaining a place in the Premiership is the most important criteria.

However, if Wanderers overcome Sunderland in Tuesday's replay fans will no doubt expect a better strength team to face Blackburn Rovers - their clos local rival opponents in the fourth round at Ewood Park!
