FUN-seekers visiting Camelot Theme Park could be 'blown away' by the Charnock Richard venue's newest attraction -- The Whirlwind.

The 1,300ft ride will be ready to thrill when the park opens for business on Saturday April 5.

Promising a "terrifying" experience for all those brave enough to ride it, the Whirlwind sits four people in each car. As they travel at high speed along the track the individual carriages spin furiously.

Other attractions new for the 2003 season include the Enchanted Glade, a mystical land with rides for younger visitors, and Merlin's School of Wizardry, where budding Harry Potters can learn some of the tricks of the trade from Merlin himself.

Sandra Dempsey, marketing manager at Camelot, said the Whirlwind was sure to be a big attraction.

"It has to be seen to be believed and I am sure there will be more than a few white knuckles once our gates open for the new season," said Sandra. "The new ride and additional attractions are part of the continuing investment programme by the theme park owners, Prime Resorts."
