THE BOLTON Sports Federation holds its annual meeting on Friday, January 31, with a thorny subject on the agenda.
In common with many other sporting organisations and businesses, the BSF has been faced with a vast increase in the premium for public liability insurance, having been refused cover by some insurers.
At an extraordinary general meeting in December, the Federation suspended its rule covering insurance for member leagues, because previous cover had lapsed, and agreed to continue looking for a suitable policy and make a final decision at the AGM.
The risks seem minimal and there has never been a claim in the 112 years history of the organisation, but BSF officials are currently examining the insurance policies available, and the need for cover, before asking members to make a decision.
