CONGRATULATIONS to Bolton's telly star Vernon Kay and fellow presenter Tess Daly who have just got engaged.
She is a good Northern lass (from Stockport) who, like Vernon, has retained her local charm along with her accent.
He is the former model from Lostock turned TV god who is the presenter of choice for everything from children's programmes to documentaries.
They make a glamorous couple and I hope the future is kind to them. They both seem pleasantly unaffected by fame and genuinely happy together.
They also both work hard, and take the whole luvvy showbiz thing with a huge pinch of salt.
