A SERIES of music courses begin in Bolton today, examining different styles ranging from the music of the shows to an introduction to classical works.
Theme and Variations traces the differences in composers' work. The 10-meeting course begins today, 1.45pm to 3.45pm, at Bolton Central Library's Lecture Theatre. The fee is £37 with concessionary rates available.
That's Entertainment -- Music From The Shows is a light hearted overview looking at the development of musicals. The 10-meeting course will include the study of leading composers, style of writing and biographical detail. The first meeting is on Thursday, 2.45pm to 3.45pm, at St George's Church Hall, St George's Road, Bolton.
Music In Vienna 1770 to 1830 is an introduction to the classical style through the works of four great composers -- Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven and Schubert. The six-meeting course begins Tuesday, April 8, 1.45pm to 3.45pm, at Bolton Central Library's Lecture Theatre. The fee is £21.60 with concessions available.
