DEVELOPERS are expected to submit plans to build a new restaurant in Moss Bank Park soon.
Bolton Council has been in talks with an unnamed developer for several months about the possibility of setting up such a facility in one of the town's busiest parks. The council would lease out the land but the cost of building and running the restaurant would be borne by the developer.
Moss Bank Park attracts thousands of visitors each year with many people attracted to the butterfly house, Animal World or miniature railway.
A refreshment kiosk is already on the site which is leased out as an annual franchise by the council. But councillors would have to decide whether this would remain if the restaurant, which would act as a cafe during the day, were to be built.
A planning application is expected to be submitted within the next few weeks.
