PUPILS have until February 7 to apply for the BT Schools Award Scheme which gives away £100,000 every term.
Schools can apply for the award by logging on to
www.bt.com/education/schoolsawards and submitting ideas for a project that will make the best use of ICT to promote and teach citizenship.
Previous winners have included young people who set-up an electronic electoral system to vote for school council members and secondary school pupils who produced a booklet to help primary children make the transition to their new school.
Citizenship was introduced as a compulsory part of the national curriculum in September of last year in a bid to broaden young people's education and help them develop the essential life skills to fully participate as citizens.
