STONE'S Ginger Wine has long been a favourite drink for many -- especially in winter when folk love its warming effect.
With heritage dating back to 1740, Stone's has an impeccable pedigree and is probably best known for its long-standing relationship with whisky in the Whisky Mac combo.
While nothing new, Stone's is worth mentioning here -- some of you may have forgotten just how delicious and versatile it is -- and your drinks cabinet will not be complete without it!
Stones is available from all good supermarkets and off licences.
ALDI have a new vermouth -- a classic Italian bianco from Turin, the city where, in the end of the 16 century, a certain Signor Alessio perfected the art of creating vermouths.
These are made by infusing 30 or more herbs, spices and even tree barks in white wine over many weeks -- even months. Slow maceration ensures that all the complex aromas and flavours blend together to form an harmonious aperitif.
Aldi's Vinelli Vermouth Bianco has all the style of a premium brand of vermouth, yet at a value for money price.
Sip it, with ice and a dash of lemon, or make it into a refreshing long drink with sparkling water.
Available at Aldi at £2.29 a bottle.
FOR those of you who have had your fill of alcohol, why not try Ame -- a lightly sparkling and gently refreshing fruit drink containing fruit juices, spring water and a unique blend of eastern herbal extracts including schisandra, jasmine, gentian and limeflower (pictured above).
Available in all major supermarkets in four different varieties -- Delicate White, Crisp Dry, Refreshing Rose and Radiant Red -- Ame comes in two different sizes, 750ml and 330ml, priced at £1.99 and 99p respectively.
