THE arrival of the 300,000th visitor is imminent at the Imperial War Museum North -- six months ahead of schedule.
Based in Trafford on the banks of Manchester Ship Canal, it opened in July 2002, costing £30m.
The museum aims to tell the story of how a century of war has shaped our lives today.
Six display areas cover key themes: Experience of War, Commonwealth and War, Women and War, Science and War, Legacy of War and Impressions of War.
