A house was left smoke-damaged after a chimney fire. Debris stuck in the chimney of the coal fire at the house in Bury Old Road, Ainsworth, caught fire and sent smoke and embers down into the house.
The fire had not been used for some time and the chimney needed sweeping, fire crews said. The owners were given safety advice. No one was hurt.
