I REFER to your front page article on Tuesday, December 31, regarding speed limits of 20 mph to be introduced to Bolton residential areas and would like to say "Councillor Guy Harkin, I want to shake your hand!".
I live on Ringley Meadows, Stoneclough and am constantly outraged at how fast people are driving when coming onto the estate, particularly when entering off the roundabout via Slackey Brow.
Myself and my neighbours all agree that it is only a matter of time before someone is hurt or, god forbid, killed!
Ringley Meadows is a residential estate, not Brands Hatch!
So, Cllr Harkin, if you want to put some speed restrictions in place, Ringley Meadows seems a good place to start.
There are a lot of children on the estate, including my own, who play out regularly, particularly in the summer and it would be tragic for one of them to be hurt by a speeding motorist.
Please, SLOW DOWN! It could be your child in the road, retrieving a ball or riding their bike.
