BOLTON supporters who constantly criticise the board, chairman and Sam Allardyce for lack of ambition and mismanagement need only look back at the recent history of other clubs that we have shared the stage with in recent years to see what a magnificent job all of the above have in fact done.

After being 2-0 down and facing a penalty in the play-off final against Reading, what have they acheived since then is fantastic.

They were eventually relegated with the likes of Sheffield Wednesday, Nottingham Forest, QPR and Wimbledon - and where are they now?

Coventry, Derby, Crystal Palace, Watford and Bradford all have little hope of getting back into the promised land.

Even in the first division, we knocked Huddersfield out of sixth place on the last day of the season to clinch a play-off place. Where are they now? On the brink of Division Three.

Throw in a couple of visits to Wembley and Cardiff and we have a recent past that has to be the envy of most clubs of our size and stature.

After supporting this club since 1963, survival in the Premier league last season ranks for me as the greatest acheivement in that time.

Survival this season will be an even bigger one. But if you'd have told me two years ago that Youri dYorkaeff, Jay J ay Ochocha and Ivan Campo would be here to help us stay in, I would not have believed you.

Come on you Whites fans, get real and get behind the team. This is the best set up we have ever had, just a couple of players short of a strong squad.

We will survive.
