I AM a little fed up of the pessimists and fair weather supporters

bemoaning the quality of the current Wanderers team.

Let's be realistic: Bolton have had a reasonable history and a few FA Cup wins but, in Premiership terms, they are a small team with a small support.

I had a season ticket in the Manchester Road stand in the bad old days of Division Four and Division Three. I was there at Wrexham when Bolton nearly didn't get promoted from Division Four.

I have watched some truly awful Bolton performances at Wolves, Port Vale, Wigan and Tranmere - to name but a few. Where are these teams now?

I constantly remind people that Bolton had a core support in this time of 4,000 in the days of Stuart Storer, Trevor Morgan and Gary Henshaw. Therefore these 4,000 have a right to moan and the remaining 20,000 glory hunters should go and watch Manchester United or Liverpool instead or just shut up and enjoy watching the most successful Bolton team in the last 20 years.

The choice is theirs.
