A MAN caught with cannabis worth £14,000 was sentenced to a three-year community rehabilitation order.
Graham Brook, aged 25, admitted at Bolton Crown Court possessing cannabis resin and cultivating cannabis.
Brian McKenna, prosecuting, said Brooks was seen in Manchester Road, Bury, on July 3 carrying a bag. He ran away when he saw police, but was stopped nearby and officers found 11 bars of cannabis resin on him.
Brooks, of Bellevue Terrace, Bury, said he had found the cannabis after watching a group of men acting suspiciously near where he lived. When police searched his home, they found three cannabis plants in the conservatory.
Judge Ruaux sentenced Brooks to a three-year community rehabilitation order and he must attend a substance-related offending programme. He was also ordered to pay £100 costs.
Thomas Fitzpatrick, defending, said Brooks had found the cannabis and was intending to keep it for his own use. The plants he was growing at home were for his own use and he had not intended to sell any of them.
