POLICE have issued a warning to motorists who leave their cars running to warm up cold engines during winter. Three cars have been stolen in the past month after drivers left doors unlocked in the Astley Bridge area.
Drivers stopping to pop into shops to buy goods are also at risk.
Louis Callaghan, crime reduction adviser, said: "People should never leave cars insecure with their engines running -- whether to defrost them, or to warm engines up. They are running the risk of crime."
