SAM Allardyce believes that Bolton's home form must improve if they are to retain their Premiership spot.

He said: "The Reebok Stadium has to be the place where we pick up wins but we have tossed away so many points that it it putting too much pressure on our away games."

It is revealed Russian international Vladimir Beschastnykh is on trial with Wanderers from Spartak Moscow.

BOLTON are forced to deny a tabloid newspaper report that Michael Ricketts has handed in a transfer request.

Allardyce says: "There is no truth in the story at all."

SAM Allardyce states the importance of the weekend game at West Ham.

"We must get a positive result," he says. "You have to make sure you are not bottom at Christmas."

"People go through barren spells," he said. "Hopefully when the next opportunity comes I can show something."
